The tribes approach the merge.

9th Elimination: Lisi

I've got a decent amount to talk about this week, but a very undecent amount of time. So I'll try to get all my thoughts across in as few words as possbile. Like that's ever going to happen...

1. Edgardo is killing me. After Lisi told Alex and Edgardo about the clues to the whereabouts of the hidden immunity idol, the two bozos went and let Mookie in on the deal. All I have to say is "WHY?"  I just don't get where the benefit lies in sharing that information. If they had just kept their mouths shut, Mookie would've never even known the idol was on their beach. The minor gain of building some trust with Mookie is far outweighed by the major loss it is to "split" the idol three ways. And let's face it, there's a reason I put "split" in quotation marks. All three may know about it, but only one is using it. And like Mookie said, when it's all said and done, the idol is in his pocket. I just don't understand the logic behind letting Mookie in on the deal. And that's probably because there isn't any.

To follow that incredibly horrible move, Edgardo felt the need to embarrass himself in the immunity challenge. When Ravu got the tree mail poem describing the challenge, Edgardo got all excited because it probably involved archery. He went on and on about how he doesn't like to brag, but he's really good at archery.

So what happens?  With the game on the line and one shot to save his team from tribal council, Edgardo completely implodes. Yeah, he didn't even hit the target. But what was worse was his utter awkwardness as he was holding the bow. Just watching him pull back, you knew he didn't have a prayer.

Seriously, I want to root for the guy since he's my pick and all. But he's been making one bad move after the next lately...

2. Lisi or Dreamz?  After Ravu lost immunity, Lisi reverted to her "I'm done with the game. Vote me off" routine. It looked like tribal council would be a done deal. But at the eleventh hour, Lisi approached Edgardo and Alex about staying in the game. She argued that she was loyal and that the two guys should really be worried about Dreamz flipping over to Cassandra's side at the merge. And you know what, for a complete psychopath, the woman did have a point.

At this point in the game, they don't need Dreamz's athleticism. If anything, he's a threat to win immunity since it's every man for himself. There's also a fairly significant chance that he will stab the two guys in the back. Other than the fact that it might make Mookie begin to second guess, there's not much downside to him being voted off.

On the other hand, Lisi would very likely stay loyal. What Edgardo and Alex would have to worry about would be her wigging out again and trying to quit. But as long as they had numbers, they could keep her from being voted off. And in all likelihood, Lisi would remain pretty stable if she had the numbers on her side anyway.

So did Edgardo and Alex make the right decision?  It really all depends on whether Dreamz flops or not. But if I were them, I wouldn't have taken the chance. Holding on to Lisi would've been a much safer bet.

3. A powder keg. That's exactly what this season is heading into the merge. So far things have been pretty calm, and they may very well stay that way. But the way this game is set up, all it's going to take is one right move to create the spark that makes Survivor: Fiji explode.

Here's the team breakdown:

Moto: Earl, Yao Man, Michelle, Boo, Cassandra, Stacy

Ravu: Alex, Edgardo, Mookie, Dreamz

If you think you know how this is going to play out, you're fooling yourself. Boo and Stacy, knowing they're the odd men out on Moto, could very well flip back to their old tribe mates. That turns a 6-4 Moto advantage into a 4-6 deficit.

On the other hand, Dreamz is an absolute wild card. I really don't think he'll hold tight to Alex and Edgardo, with Cassandra whispering in his ear.

And let's not forget that there is not one, but two hidden immunity idols left in play, as well as Yao Man's "fake" idol.

Oh yeah, things could get very, very interesting...
