Moto makes a dumb move.

4th Elimination: Gary
5th Elimination: Liliana

Keepin' it short. Three exams this week...

1. Bye Bye Papa Smurf. You know, it truly is a shame that Gary had to leave the game due to an injury. He seemed like a really good guy and a solid competitor. While I certainly wasn't expecting it, it wouldn't have floored me if he had actually won the game. He had a dominant team with the potential to coast into the merge. After that, he may have been able to fly under the radar all the way to the million.

2. Tough, tough decision. When Moto won their sixth challenge in a row and secured immunity once again, they also won the secret contents of bottle. The bottle contained a very difficult ultimatum - stay on Moto beach with all its comforts and go to tribal council, or move to the desolate Ravu beach and be safe from the vote. Moto went for luxury.

Had Gary not been forced out of the game, it would've been an easier decision for Moto. Keeping their comfort and cutting a 9-6 lead down to an 8-7 advantage would've been justifiable. Having a 3-person advantage is huge, but considering Moto's dominance, keeping the good camp would've been the smart play.

However, since Ravu got to replace Jessica with Sylvia after the first tribal council, and Moto lost Gary to injury, Moto's choosing to go to tribal council actually put the two tribes dead even. I know that having the good camp is a big part of staying refreshed and energized for the challenges, but being tied is that last place Moto wants to be after all their domination. Think about it, Moto has not lost a single challenge, and yet they hold absolutely no numbers advantage over Ravu. That's got to be uplifting to Ravu's spirits. They were as beaten up and mentally weak as any tribe in Survivor history. Now Ravu has been given a second lease on life.

Moto certainly had a tough decision to make. I probably would've kept the numbers and switched beaches with the belief that it was the strength of my team that lead us to victory and not the camp. But on the other hand, there's something to be said for cutting the weakest member while keeping the core of your team healthy at the nice camp. With Ravu continuing to waste away with nothing to help them out, there's no reason why Moto's dominance couldn't continue, right?

3. Dumb, dumb decision. Remember that whole part about "cutting the weakest member"?  Well, apparently the Moto brain trust got "weakest" and "strongest" mixed up as they decided to keep the near useless Cassandra and vote off the toughest female in the game, Liliana. This was just an inexcusably dumb move. After deciding to completely obliterate your numbers advantage, there absolutely no justification for getting rid of one of your tribe's biggest assets.

I know that Ravu is a tribe full of weaklings and numbskulls, but after the horrible strategy that Moto's displayed this past episode, it would almost be fitting to have the tables turn on them. And I have a hankering that Ravu rising to dominance is not entirely out of the question. You know the show's producers would eat it up, so you can expect a lot more twists in Ravu's favor in the coming weeks. This whole game is entirely up in the air right now. It honestly wouldn't shock me to see Rocky sitting in the finals after this episode. Honestly, has he done anything as dumb as Moto just did?  Survivor has a way of bringing down the arrogant and making people pay for their horrible decisions. This past week, Moto took part in what was unquestionably some of the most egregious Survivor play in the show's history. You know it's eventually going to come back to bite them.

Yup, things just got very, very interesting...
