Lost on ABC

When I first heard about the concept of ABC's new drama, Lost, I thought, "Oh cool. It's like Survivor, the drama." And to be honest, if that's all that the show was, it would still own a season pass slot on my TiVo. But Lost takes the concept of being stranded on a deserted island to a whole new level. It's never-ending supply of secrets, mystery, twists, and intrigue are what has catapulted it to the top of my "must-watch" list each week. As much as I enjoy an O.C. controversy or Survivor backstab, it's safe to say that Lost has definitely taken the place as my favorite show.

What makes the show really shine is all the great backstories to the characters. Trying to fill an hour time slot with the happenings on a deserted island could definitely get tedious after a while. But the flashbacks not only add varieties and incredible depth to the show. Suddenly it's not all about hunting boar for food, but about the castaways finding out who they truly are. These flashbacks transform Lost from a show about survival, to a show about redemption.

The only problem I had with this amazing show was the incredibly long stretches without a new episode. Once Christmas hit, you'd have to wait weeks for a new show or two, then be forced to wait another three weeks for the next new ones. Yet, looking back, there were actually 24 episodes in Lost Season One. I guess the folks at ABC just didn't know how to space them well initially. But I have to say that this one minor flaw has improved in subsequent seasons, leaving Lost as the "perfect" show.

Below you'll find reviews of every completed season of Lost. They're a great way to take a quick look back on all that's transpired on the island. Each Lost review contain photos, character profiles, and as usual, a unique DeROK.Net spin on the show. I hope you enjoy them.
