Mockery of America's over-hyped singing competition.
Every spring, FOX captivates the nation with twelve amateurs' pursuit to become the American Idol. Every spring I'm captivated by the show's off the scale unintentional comedy. Hey, if watching Justin Timberlake imitators drive twelve year-old girls in the audience wild with their rendition of Barry Manilow's "Mandy" is your thing, then more power to you. But if you're like me, FOX's American Idol is a veritable treasure chest of humor and mockery material. Below you will my collection of American Idol spoofs. While they don't even begin to scratch the surface of all the snide comments and one-liners I've muttered on my couch while watching the show on FOX, these American Idol spin-offs are sure to make fans of the show crack a smile. And if you don't believe me, here's what the American Idol judges had to say about DeROK.Net:
Randy Jackson: Yo Dawg! Man, Dawg, Yo, I mean, Dawg! It was tight, yo! Dawg! |
Paula Abdul: DeROK, you really shared your heart with us. I just love reading what you write. It's been a joy to watch you grow as a webmaster. I'm touched. I'm really touched. |
Simon Cowell: Cheerio! I say old chap, your website is just dreadful. Truly awful Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the water closet to puke. |
