The first thing I thought when I heard The Fray was that this group was a little bit U2, a little bit Coldplay, and a little bit Keane. When you can say that about a group a minute into hearing their first single for the first time, you know you've stumbled onto something special. The Fray are certainly just that. They manage to take a little bit of something from some amazing groups and turn it into a sound that's uniquely their own. Although they've only released one album, the group has proven that they may be second to none when it comes to writing songs that are catchy, quality, and deep all at the same time. Unfortunately, if there's any downside to The Fray, it's that their songs are a little too universal, which has caused their hits to be completely killed by the radio. But what are you going to do? At least when "Over My Head" has been beaten into the ground, you know The Fray is there with a whole album full of quality tracks to replace it.
