NFL Mid-Season Report

There comes a time during every season where a team finds itself in crisis. It may be losing to an inferior opponent, falling behind in a division race, or realizing that they're not on track for the playoffs. When that time comes, every team is left with only one decision. They can either hang their heads and feel sorry, or they can go out there an bounce back.

All four of these teams are in major need of a bounce-back. The Jaguars, early favorites to contend with the Colts for the AFC South, have suffered several embarrassing loses which have cost them any real shot of competing with Indianapolis. The Bengals have struggled immensely to find the chemistry that brought them so much success last year, and they've also dug themselves a hole in their AFC North battle with the Ravens. You can add Carolina to the mix of underachievers as well. Their sluggish start has put both the Falcons and the Saints in control of the NFC South.

And speaking of the Saints... Why would a team who's gone above and beyond everyone's wildest expectations and is leading their division need to bounce back?  Well for them, I'm referring to the New Orleans in general, who is still struggling to recover from Hurricane Katrina. However, the inspiring play of the Saints has gone a long way in lifting the spirits of that decimated region. And if they can continue to play the way they have been, the Saints may find themselves bouncing all the way to Miami... (See below for more details)
