Metroid X E-mail
A carefully constructed version of Metroid focused on "fun".

Created By: Rage Games

Game Info: This is a map edit for the original Metroid. Screens, enemy and item placement, palettes, text... you name it, it's been changed. The primary goal was to make the game more playable, and the discerning player will note the careful placement of platforms and enemies to make jumps easier. This doesn't mean that beating the game will be a cinch, though. The items are much more difficult to get, the corridors are contorted into winding mazes, and many of the energy tanks have been completely eliminated. Beating this version will be fun but it will not be effortless.

Other Notes: Metroid X is a rather lengthy game and you will probably want to save your progress at some point. The built-in password system will allow you to keep any abilities and items you've collected, but for the added functionality of save states which will allows you to pick up from the exact point you left off, you can download an NES Emulator and a Metroid X game patch which are found on the main Metroid ROMs page.
