After taking the music world by storm with their first album, "Hot Fuss"The Killers faced the unenviable task of following up that greatness with a second album. When you show glimpses of greatness, people are going to expect it to continue. Unfortunately for The Killers, lightning didn't strike twice. While "Sam's Town" certainly contains its fair share of good songs, it pales in comparison to "Hot Fuss". And most people would classify the record as a disappointment. Personally, I enjoy "Sam's Town" quite a bit and don't consider the drop-off to be quite as severe as most people would make you believe. The Killers are The Killers, and they're one-of-a-kind style is apparent throughout the album. And after all, I'm sure whatever painting DaVinci created after the Mona Lisa was a little bit of a disappointment as well.
