Instructions:

Below are the instructions for operating the Super Nintendo Emulator, and creating playable video games from the Hacked ROM files.

For any questions, refer to our FAQ's section. Please do not email me regarding troubleshooting, I did not create the Emulator or ROM Hacks, and cannot assist you any further than what is described on this page and the FAQ's section.

Super Nintendo (SNES) Instructions:

Creating playable games from the Hacked ROM files on this site requires the following tools:

(Please refer to our content policy before downloading any materials.)

1. Super Nintendo Emulator:  ZSNES

2. SNES ROM Hack IPS File:  Found Here

4. Corresponding ROM File: Not found on this site. Refer to our FAQ's section regarding these.

Steps:

Step 1:

If necessary, unzip the contents of your ROM Hack folder.

View any "readme" files attached.

Place the ROM Hack file in the same folder as the original ROM file.

Rename the ROM Hack IPS file to match the file name of the original ROM.

Example:

If your original ROM is named "Derok.smc", rename your ROM Hack "Derok.ips". (Often the .ips is already understood and you should just enter "Derok" as the new name of the file.)

***NOTE***: Unlike NES ROMs, SNES ROMs do not have to be manually patched. Simply having the files in the same folder with the same name will allow ZSNES to patch the files. This type of patch will not change your original SNES ROM, so creating a backup is not necessary.

If you would like to manually patch your SNES ROMs, you can use SnesTool. This will permanently change your ROMs, so always make sure you have made a back up. It is a little difficult to use, but the instruction manual included in the zip file, should explain everything to you.

Step 2:

Unzip the contents of the ZSNES Folder.

View the "license" file found in the "docs" folder.

Open the ZSNES program.

Select GAME, then LOAD

Locate your original ROM file, using the directory system.

Click on the original ROM filenam, and click LOAD

Begin playing.

Note: To set the controls, go to "CONFIG", then "INPUT #1", select your device and then set the keys.
