Episode 6 Elimination: Cao Boi and Crisitina

Seeing as the "Three Observations" format has been the only thing to keep me from rambling, I'm sticking to it again this week.  Here's my quick take on Episode Six...

1.  We lost a good man.  Cao Boi said that people either love him or hate him.  So I just want to go on record as saying that I'm one of his fans.  Now if I were stuck on an island with him for 39 days, my opinion probably would have changed, as I would think that the combination of his stubbornness and insanity would be pretty tough to deal with out there.  But from a safe distance in my living room, the man was extremely entertaining.

I'm sure that Cao Boi was cast to fufill the role of "the crazy guy".  However, it wasn't his wackiness that made me enjoy watching him.  You see, Cao Boi came up with two of the best alliance destroying plans this season. Granted, his first attack on Team CaucAsian failed because he bailed out on it, like an idiot.  But his

second attempt, this week, was pure genius, and only thwarted by the fact that nobody wants to align with somebody who just escaped from a mental institute.

His plan to split three votes between Jonathan and Candice thereby breaking up the strongest alliance in the game, eliminating the first white person, and potentially diffusing the hidden immunity idol was the type of advanced strategy that I advocate every week on this blog.  And it's the first time that I've ever seen any plan of that caliber even attempted on the show.  Now of course Yul had the idol, which would have lessened the immensity of the move.  But from Cao Boi's viewpoint, it was the perfect setup. I don't even care that supernatural spirits gave him the idea in a dream.  That was the most genius plan the show has ever seen.  If only it had played out...

2. Keep the cast to 16, please. I hate it when they bloat the cast with extra members, because that just means you're going to end up with double eliminations.  They totally ruin the game.  Let's say that you were a fan of Cristina.  You were probably pumped that she survived last week... Until they showed the previews and told you that both teams were going to tribal council.  At that point, there's no hoping that Raro wins the next couple of immunity challenges and Cristina makes some moves to advance her position in the tribe. You knew she was as good as gone.

I hate it when they have 18 castaways. I can only imagine the dumb twists they'll pull now that there's twenty.

3.  Beware the Aryan Nation.  Thirteen people are left, and five white people remain. My best guess is that the next eliminations for Raro and Aitu are Jenny and Ozzy, respectively.  That would make it 5 out of 11 for the white-folk.  And seeing as Jonathan and Candice have Yul and Becky in their back pocket, I don't see the minorities pulling a coup at the merge.

Yep, it's a fact: White people are very sneaky.  Good thing I've converted to the Latinos.
