As long as the Yankees don't walk away with the World Series, I'll be happy.

2004 MLB Season Preview

It's not a good attitude to have when a team I like, such as the Red Sox, has the potential to win the World Series, but in all honesty, it's the way I feel.  Looking at the two teams on paper, I'd have no problem picking the Sox to not only win the AL East, but the whole American League.  Sure, the Yankees added A-Rod, and Shef, and Kevin Brown.  But do you really think the Yanks pitching staff can out-duel Pedro, Schilling, and Wakefield?  Neither do I.  That's why I'm expecting something completely inexplicable of Bucker and Gradyesque proportions to somehow ruin the Red Sox season.  Think this is just a lame attempt at jinxing "The Curse"?  Forget about it.  How many times has this finally been "the year"?  And how many of those times have things collapsed?  Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see things turn around.  I'm just not expecting it.  There's too many people producing too much hype.  Hey, don't take my word for it.  This is only my opinion.  I just don't think tthere's any chance that the Red Sox are getting out of this season without getting completely screwed over by the whole A-Rod thing.  Knowing their history, it's hard to believe that the botched trade isn't going to come back to haunt them at least once.  This season has the possibility to bring the Red Sox misery to an epic proportion.  We're talking about the Red Sox here.  Is there any way they escape that fate?  Don't believe me if you don't want to.  I certainly don't claim to be an expert.  I just see the Red Sox finally winning it all sort of like the Patriots did.  With a bunch of rag-tag misfits when nobody is looking for it.  That's the way it should be.  But until then, let's hope the title goes to anybody but the Yankees.

Could a World Series victory be on the horizon for the Boston Red Sox?
I decide to stick things out with the Baltimore Orioles.

MLB Teams

My favorite team, and the one that brought the world Cal Ripken Jr.
Any team that's an arch-rival to the Yankees, is alright in my book.
The "other" baseball team from New York is a diamond in the rough.
