Since the 2004 NFL Season, I have decided to take an up and coming team from each conference under my wing and follow them on their quest toward a playoff berth. The Cincinnati Bengals were my AFC team for 2005.Armed with an up and coming Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson combo, plus a great coach in Marvin Lewis, the Bengals are poised to take their place as and elite NFL team. Below you will find some articles that I have written describing my journey with the Cincinnati Bengals.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the Cincinnati Bengals had hoped the 2006 season would build upon their playoff run in 2005. However, the team as a whole found too many outside distractions to keep their minds on next week's game. We all know what happened from there. However, 2007 brings a clean slate and a chance for the Bengals to achieve their Super Bowl dreams. Can Cincinnati's high-powered offense rise to the challenge? If they can keep their minds on football, the sky may be the limit.
After making the playoffs for the first time in fourteen years, Chad Johnson and the Bengals were "rewarded" with a cheap-shot to Carson Palmer that ruined their Super Bowl aspirations. Needless to say, with their star QB rehabilitated, the Bengals were ready for a season of revenge and redemption. However, a slew of off-the-field issues kept the team's focus away from football. Adding insult to injury, the Steelers once again ended the Bengals season. This time, it was on a Week 17, 67-yard touchdown pass in OT which eliminated Cincinnati from the playoffs. Ouch!
If there was ever a city desperate for an NFL playoff came, it was Cincinnati, Ohio. Suffering through a playoff drought that had lasted since 1991, Cincinnati Bengals fans entered the 2005 season hopeful that their young quarterback and receiver tandem, Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson, would lead them to the promised land. Ultimately, the Cincinnati Bengals reached their goal, only to see an injury to Carson Palmer end their Super Bowl dreams.
